Dutch Oven Contest and Pinewood Derby

You are cordially invited to come watch the 2009 Morrow County Fair Boy Scout Dutch Oven Contest and Pinewood Derby on Labor Day, September 7th. The event will be held in/out of the jr. fair youth building. Activities begin at 10 a.m. The fairgrounds is located south of the square in Mount Gilead on State Highway 61/42.

Admission into the fair is $6 per person, children 8 and under are free. Parking is free. The fair's website is http://www.mountgilead.net/mcfair.htm. Ride bands are $10. A full fair schedule of events August 31st thru Sept. 7th is listed there. There is also a map of the fairgrounds located in the fairbook on the website. You will also be able to check out the educational display that was created by the Boy/Girl Scout reps/advisors on the Morrow Co. Jr. Fair board. This would be great ideas for Marion, Crawford and Wyandot to incorporate into their fairs to promote scouting.
 
This year our girl scouts are having a brand new event, a raingutter regatta. It is scheduled at 3 p.m. The demolition derby begins at 4:30 p.m. in the grandstand. Of course, food vendors are located ALL over the grounds
 
BTW, the fairgrounds is the site of the 2010 Spring Camporee on April 23 - April 25.
